1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information

• Name and email address when you create an account
• Password (stored securely via encrypted authentication)

Health & Nutrition Data

• Food entries you log, including food names, portion sizes, and meal timestamps
• Calorie and macronutrient data (protein, carbohydrates, fat) associated with your entries
• Your personal calorie and macro goals
• Progress data including streaks, daily summaries, and achievement history

Usage Data

• App activity such as features used and session frequency
• Device information including iOS version and device model
• Subscription and plan status

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your Orie account
• Provide calorie and nutrition tracking functionality
• Look up nutritional information for foods you log using AI-assisted data services
• Display your progress, streaks, and achievements
• Deliver push notifications and Live Activity updates relevant to your goals
• Process and manage your subscription
• Improve the App's features and performance
• Respond to support requests or feedback you submit

3. Third-Party Services

To power certain features of the App, we share limited data with the following trusted third-party providers:

• Supabase — Our database and authentication provider. Your account credentials and app data are stored securely on Supabase infrastructure. Supabase is contractually bound to protect your data.
• Perplexity AI— When you search for a food item, the food name is sent to Perplexity's API to retrieve nutritional information. No personal account details are included in these requests.
• Apple— Subscription billing and in-app purchases are processed through Apple's App Store infrastructure. Apple's privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), hashed passwords, and JWT-based authentication to protect your information. While we take reasonable steps to secure your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data and nutrition logs for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide you with the App's services. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes or enforcing our terms.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account

7. Children's Privacy

Orie is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with their information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
